The Future Is Here With a Robot Lawn Mower
Wouldn’t it be great if we had robots to do our household chores? Whirring
around on gyro wheels, they could serve drinks, wash the windows, vacuum the rug
and clean the dishes. This was the kind of future we were promised back in the
1950’s, but sadly, it hasn’t come true. Hasn’t come true? Wait a minute! There
is a robot on the market today – the robot lawn mower.
The robot lawn mower is a small device that automatically cuts your lawn. It
travels back and forth while the cutting blades on the underside do there work
to make your lawn look great. The only effort on the part of the owner is to
push the start button.
These units are battery powered and very quiet. They can run just about anytime
of the day or night without disturbing your neighbors. The batteries will
usually give enough power to cut an average sized lawn without needing
recharging. The robot lawn mower can be recharged by plugging the charging unit
into a standard socket for about 20 hours.
A robot lawn mower works by setting up a perimeter around your lawn. The
perimeter can be either an underground cable or a small fence. When the lawn
mower senses the perimeter boundary, it turns around. The lawn is usually cut in
a triangular pattern ensuring that no spot is left uncut.
Sensors on the robot lawn mower tell it when there is an object in its path. It
responds by going around the object. If the robot is picked up or overturned by
a child or dog, the cutting blades automatically stop turning. When the battery
is running low, the robot will emit some kind of signal to remind you to
recharge it.
There are a few manufacturers of robot lawn mowers. One manufacturer – Zucchetti
- makes a truly automatic robot lawn mower. The Ambrogio robot lawn mower is
housed in a charging station that stays on your lawn permanently. The Ambrogio
can be programmed to cut your lawn on a regular basis – once a week, every 10
days – whenever you want. When cutting time arrives, the Ambrogio emerges from
its charging station and proceeds to cut the lawn. If the battery starts to go
low, the Ambrogio automatically goes back to the charging station for a
recharge.
The Ambrogio is a fully automatic robot lawn mower. It has sensors that tell it
if the grass is too wet to cut, and it will wait for better conditions. This
robot lawn mower can have a permanent lawn mower and lawn care home on your lawn and you will never have
to worry about cutting your lawn again.
